About Habitat for Humanity: Southeast BC
Who We Are
Habitat for Humanity Southeast B.C. is a Canadian registered charity that builds homes for affordable home ownership. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. We are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Canada and Habitat for Humanity International.
Mission
Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.
What We Do
- Build homes for affordable home ownership
- Provide mortgage and home ownership support to qualifying Habitat Partner Families
- Operate Habitat ReStores in Castlegar and Grand Forks
Habitat ReStores
Habitat ReStores are home and building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building and household materials. The proceeds from Habitat ReStores fund our home-building initiatives, Partner Family support activities, and affiliate operations. We currently operate Habitat ReStores in Castlegar and Grand Forks.
How We Work
Habitat uses volunteer labour and donations of money and materials to accomplish the Habitat mission. The volunteers and donations either directly support our home build projects, or support our Habitat ReStores.
Where We Work
Habitat for Humanity Southeast B.C. serves the Boundary and Kootenay regions of British Columbia from Rock Creek to Alberta, and from Golden to the U.S. border.
